Every year, I like to raise money for a fantastic local nonprofit, Desert Island Supply Company in Woodlawn. I’m not overselling it when I say it’s one of the highlights of my year. This year I’m reading some excerpts from sallinger & Vonnegut!
Brian and all the amazing volunteers are doing great things and help a lot of kids in Woodlawn find their niche. If you’ve got a few dollars to throw their way, please do.
They don’t do it for the money, but nonprofits like these do need money to survive.
The Woodlawn Writers Corps is a collective of more than 700 students at Avondale Elementary, Oliver Elementary, and Putnam Middle School. Every week during the school year, volunteers from the Desert Island Supply Co. facilitate in-school creative writing workshops for Corps members.
