Watch the Read-a-Thon live RIGHT HERE

We're celebrating 10 years of in-school writing workshops, after-school clubs, and student publications, so this year's read-a-thon is brought to you by the Number 10! Starting at 10am on December 2nd, our students and other supporters will nonstop in ten-minute increments for 10 hours straight. Everyone will read something inspired by the number 10 -- the tenth chapter of a beloved novel, ten sonnets, the tenth pages from each of their ten favorite stories. Fun!!!!!

The Epic Read-a-Thon benefits our All-City Writers Corps, a collective of more than 500 students in Birmingham City Schools who participate in weekly writing workshops. With your support, students in the Corps can continue reading and writing poetry and publishing their work in our annual anthologies and chapbooks. Check back here for updates, including our reading schedule and how to be a reader at the event!
