WATCH THE READ-A-THON LIVE HERE! (starting on December 3rd at 12 noon)

About the Event:

At DISCO we love reading, writing, and storytelling. To show our students just how important we believe these things are to a vibrant society, we’re going to start reading at noon on December 3rd and keep reading for 24-hours straight! The Epic Read-a-Thon benefits our All City Writers Corps, a collective of more than 300 students in Birmingham City Schools, who participate in weekly writing workshops. With your support, students in the Corps can continue reading and writing poetry, stories, and essays and publishing their work in our annual anthologies and chapbooks.

The theme of this year's read-a-thon is The Great Outdoors, and our students and supporters will be reading literature that features nature, outside spaces, travel, and adventure. You can follow along with the schedule below!
